schools actually get more budget to work with the more students are diagnosed with anything, even ADD/ADHD. ADD is something they label kids that have even mild trouble focusing or are too hyper (they're fucking kids) to get more funding. autism diagnosises might be the same shit

ADHD is super overdiagnosed but I find a lot of autism stuff is self-diagnosed. I loathe seeing people use it (among other shit) as a crutch for poor behavior and remove accountability from themselves. There's always a choice to learn from one's mistakes even if your doing so...
