Did we read the same article? Misgendering the child wasn't even what was on trial. It was whether the father can actively deny their child access to medical hormones. Which is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT issue. We're talking about a parent denying a dependent the right yo...

You keep saying you read the article but apparently not all of it...that’s literally a part of it.

That part of the article stipulates that the results of this trial *could* *eventually* lead to a situation where misgendering your child is emotional abuse. It's in no way like that yet. It would take more landmark cases to get there. Which I said already.

Are you familiar with gender affirming care?

Admittedly no. If you wanna give me your sources on what it actually is though cool. Always good to learn more.

Gender affirming care is the alternative to therapy where you reaffirm the gender identity of the child and set them on the path to transition. It’s currently being discussed in a lot of circles as being dangerous for children and helpless for parentshttps://youtu.be/Z9j4gAeWqoY

It’s often seen as abuse if you even try to help them figure out what makes them uncomfortable with themselves before immediately becoming a yes man. You can potentially lose custody of your children as well

Will need to do more research into this, but your point still detracts from the main issue. The case in question was more about child autonomy (which you can agree or disagree with) than it was about free speech.

It’s a link to a bigger problem. If you can’t even decide what gender your 14yr old is until they’re mature enough to make a life altering decision, then how can we really sit by and say that disagreeing with gender identity doesn’t get penalized? That’s disingenuous

"Disagreeing with gender identity" and "Disagreeing with gender identity and doing something about it" Are two different things tho. And, at least according to what you linked me, only the latter is truly penalized. Free speech is still present

Ok, that might not be the perfect example. So here’s another example of the gross misuse of the law. Jessica Yaniv, the trans activist alleged pedo who has proactively gotten multiple salons shut down using the discrimination of a protected group argument.https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/salon-forced-to-close-after-refusing-to-wax-transgender-females-male-genitalia …
