this distinction is used principally to defend those who have commited sexual assault. it's disingenuous.

Or....or...hear me out on this one. It’s defending the textbook/criminal definition of the words to avoid misinformation?

Look, maybe when even 30% of the abusers in this community face consequences for their actions I'll be in the mood for nuance. But right now, even the already-banned (& even convicted!) players in the FGC have twitter stans denying or minimizing their abusive actions. Exhausting!

What does that have to do with literal definitions

When the charge is "sexual assault", held in contrast to "rape" regressive creeps can use that to downplay the severity of the actions involved. In your mentions already I see people talking about "unwanted kissing", acting as though that's not so bad. Do you see where I'm going?

You know you sound fucking stupid when you're arguing with an actual dictionary about what words mean, but go off

Just use the actual word and you'll have less dumbasses on the internet correcting you That's a professional tip from me to you

it's a distinction without a difference. i'm not going to validate the word "ephebophile" because it is exclusively used to justify predatory behavior or minimize the harm done by sexualizing teenage children. i refuse.
