This article was not meant to disprove lobster hierarchy, it was meant to display the obvious existance of gender dysphoria

I don’t think that’s been refuted? Until recently it was classified as a disorder in the realm of psychology. Since then, solutions are still being thought up to curve the insanely high suicide rates, but I’m pretty sure he’s never refuted that.

The high suicide rates are also likely a causation of social pressures more so than that of an actual effect of gender dysphoria, although it may be a contributing factor it likely isnt the main one.

Social pressures don’t contribute to a suicide rate higher than slaves and Jews in concentration camps.

This is a very apples and oranges comparison. Comparing being trans, were you are told your existance is illegitimate, compared to being considered vermin and mass murdered along side bring considered an animal. These three things are non-compareable.

? The comparison is suicide. People who have been treated far worse than trans people had a lower suicide rate. That is the comparison. To say “not feeling accepted leads to a suicide rate of 40%” is ignoring the full problem.

https://www.cbc.ca/cbcdocspov/blog/why-its-important-to-oppose-jordan-petersons-views-on-gender-pronouns … -- CBC. Lack of social acceptance is a major issue, and one of the larger ones, but the research is still really new, so it is hard to say.

This was written by an activist...that’s not objective journalism so there’s no point in reading it. You’d have to also convince me that slaves didn’t have it the same if not worse

God no, I cannot convince anyone, myself included, that the condition of slaves is worse than that of transgender people in the US, because it isn't true. But the suicide rate was high for slaves, and so was infanticide of pregnant slaves, even accounting for horrible conditions.

Which, is to imply that pregnant slaves would kill their children to prevent them from also being enslaved.

I’m saying that being unable to fix their self-image COUPLED with social pressure is far more agreeable then just, discrimination causes a suicide rate of 40%. It’s far too simplified and doesn’t allow for roads to fixing the entire issue

Of course, our disagreement is just in whether which is a more contributing factor.
