Keep hearing people use the “it was said in private” defense like bruh so was every pedo case that got revealed within the past year. The only difference is that people universally agree that liking kids is bad but saying the n-word is socially acceptable.

The point is that some people are MORE angry about the people who are exposing these people for saying terrible things then the actual act of saying said terrible thing. And this is because people believe it’s OK to say things like that in private or it’s OK if you’re young.

Eh I’d be apart of those some people. I get what you are saying, but if you had a rational way of trying to help someone from saying negative shit like that and ignore it just go for the internet call out of them being racist I don’t respect that one bit. That’s just my outlook.

I prefer the call out. Stroder even said he knew it was making people uncomfortable. If you’re brave enough to say something that fucked up there should be consequences. Otherwise, everyone will just keep doing it.

I agree with when you say the word you better prepare for the backlash no matter what context it is. But I think you are equally as bad as someone saying ignorant shit if you just skip the conversation with them and go for the call out. That’s the amazing cycle of cancel culture.

Hm. I look at a call out and a cancel as two different things. A call out can lead to a cancel but it doesn’t have to. Anyone trying to cancel Bocchi/Stroder are clowns but in my opinion I see the call out as the consequence that equals the gravity of what was said.
