it matters because we all have biases and make assumptions that everyones culture is our culture. Kids need to be introduced to multiple cultures in school....it leaves a lasting impact that sets them up success when they move away from their hometown.
That’s what history/language classes and clubs are for. Educating is for the qualified.

I respectfullydisagree. those "qualified" cant speak to things they have no knowledge of. I learn more from my diverse students and coworkers than I ever have in the actually classroom

Your racial background has absolutely nothing to do with every core pillar of education besides ones specifically focused on it. The job of an educator isn’t to push cultural values on to students. If u learned more from “diversity” than a textbook then I’d say pay more attention
