The joke is that it’s a bad thing and it was done because both the deliverer and audience understand it’s wrong. That’s the joke. If you don’t like it then fine, but you can’t say it’s more than a joke without evidence. If u willingly ignore the joke, then yes, it’s not a joke.

I'm pretty sure people also get a kick out of how pissed off people get from this. Some people just like making others mad, so getting super mad kind of just gives these people what they want.

Surreal humor/artwork definitely exists, I’m not so sure this would fit the bill though. I can see why people would go with racist or funny though.
