Eh, I'm not too sure about the whole "rules of who should say it" part. Banning a word from one group of people but not for all kinda just makes things worse, no? I always thought people hated the word cus it sort of divided people, but banning just white people from using 1/?

Word has a lot of racial history with it

You’re allowed to dislike someone’s usage of the word, but you certainly can’t tell them it’s off limits. If anyone is comfortable with doing that, you better adhere to every other community that has equal history behind slurs. If he accepts the backlash it’s 100% fine imo.
