Hi, @TeamYouTube, I notice that videos are often automatically captioned in a language which is not spoken in the video.
Is there any way for users to help your system understand its error and retry creating automatic captions in the correct language?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyZoO1JliP4 …
Understood! Just to let you know, you can change the setting/language of the captions anytime. Here's how: Click "cc" > cogwheel(settings) > subtitles > Auto translate > select language. Let us know if that helps.

Alas, for auto translation to function correctly, the video must first have a reasonably accurate transcription of the spoken word in the original language. The issue we are discussing is the system's misinterpretation of English as French.

In other words, if the computer mistakenly tries to 'hear' English words as French dialogue, then the results will be incorrect. We cannot then gain correct English subtitles by machine-translating that mistaken French caption back to English.
