Too bad the “bell icon” is algorithmically handled. Verified by 2 different YouTube reps I talked to. So no, not even pressing the bell icon is a guarantee anymore.https://twitter.com/teamyoutube/status/977335508434010112 …

The WAY it’s implemented is what’s poor, not its existence. Look at all of the responses. Finding even one response in favor of this is difficult. It even ads a tremendous load to your support team. Clearly needs revision.

Following up on this! Creator Insider posted an updated video with more clarity on how and why notifications work the way they do. Check it out here:https://goo.gl/KZ9tkw

We hear (and feel!) you on the more "metrics" to show notifications sent/delivered. It's something that team has been discussing and we'll forward along your comments!

If someone’s clicking the bell icon, of course they want notifications. Why would they even click it if they didn’t want notifications??? That’s such a ridiculous concept YouTube.

I don't use the bell and I get notifications from my subs, not all of them but some, sometimes I even get notifications from channels I'm not subscribed to but I watched a couple of their videos, could you explain that?

Sorry but if you click the bell icon it’s because you want ALL notifications from them because you’re subscribed to too many to find that specific creator within your sub box. You don’t want ‘occasional notifications’. Do your coders not know how your own platform is used by fans
