When a person hits that subscribe button they are saying, I want this person's content... not I want you @Youtube to decide what portion of content I get.... C'mon guys, to subscribe is an action, which means that sub is saying, give me this content

they should unsubscribe from certain channels if that’s the case. Most of my viewers as an example hadn’t a clue about the bell, when I polled them on it - changing the function of the subscription button is harming all involved

Thanks for letting us know about your viewers! They can change settings here: http://goo.gl/XLDtz4 Many want to remain subscribed and visit the subs feed when they’re ready for new videos versus receiving notifications. We created the bell to provide viewers that choice.

This seems bizarre. As a viewer as well as a content creator, by hitting subscribe I want to see ALL content from that channel I’ve subscribed to. This NEEDS to be viewers choice, not YouTubes. This isn’t good.

You will always see videos of channels you are subscribed to in the subs feed. In this video, we were referring to proactive notifications which not all viewers wanted to receive. We added the bell to give viewers a choice. More here: http://goo.gl/XLDtz4 Hope that helps!

So whats the point of subscribing lmao

All of the videos will still show up in your subs feed. As not every sub wanted to receive a proactive notification, we created the bell so viewers had a choice.

Well. I clicked the bell.on a few people and still get no notifications. So, there's still a problem.

You'll want to check account, device, and channel notification settings. Here's a troubleshooter with the exact steps: https://goo.gl/giVA8o . Keep us posted!

Except this is a lie. I have had a ton of subscribers say/prove that they have clicked the bell and are subscribed and still aren't getting notifications in Sub Box. YT has replied to me via twitter and acknowledged this issue and it's still broken.
-
What is the point of subscribing in the first place? So you can not get videos from people you want to watch? Remove the bell feature and provide viewers a sub feed that represents their actual subscriptions. The viewers can UNSUB if they aren't interested anymore.
