If a creator doesn’t label its video as “child content” the YouTuber (not youtube) can be find up to $42,000 per video. However their definition of child content is so open ended this could be almost any video on YouTube. From movie review to toys.https://twitter.com/KennerToys/status/1192593758459703296 …

It’s more about individual video content & its target audience, rather than a video’s general category (e.g. gaming or cartoons). This is why, in addition to our systems, creators will self designate their content as made for kids. More specific examples: https://yt.be/help/pE5Q

I make stop motion animation. More people my own age watch it than children (based on YT analytics). Since I’m animating with action figures, is my work going to be broadly labeled “for kids,” and I’ll just have my entire channel demonetized?

There will be an option to mark your entire channel as made for kids (if that’s the case), but if that doesn’t apply to you, you should evaluate and self-designate on a video-by-video basis – some examples: https://yt.be/help/pE5Q . We’ll have more resources soon.
