Additional clarification:
No one lost a verification badge today–If you received an email that your channel will no longer be verified, this was just an advanced notice & you can appeal
The checkmark has never appeared on YouTube mobile channel pages (this will be added soon)https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1174735005215420416 …

I've already sent in my appeal and my channel has been impersonated multiple times in the past. I've been doing a video a day minimum for 8 years, plenty of people have tried. Right now I'm verified so I can't be impersonated, so why would you take it away?

So let me get this right. It's now up to the user to find the conditions of impersonation. You know, on a site where thousands of videos uploaded a second. You know how insane that sounds? I'm curious, why not make a SEPERATE status for those who were verified to keep that func?

I mean, if it's about confusion, then put the verified status before into a new condition that still allows for that check. If this change is so important for the YT ecostructure, while not harming creators or their audience???

How does this change the fact that you think removing the thing that shows the person commenting or uploading is the real person and not a fake, will help people distinguish who is real and who isn't?
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
