It should be easy to know when you’ve found the official YouTube channel of a creator, artist, brand, or public figure. So in late October, we’re updating what it means for channels to be “Verified” w/ new eligibility criteria & a new look. Details → https://yt.be/help/3QfB pic.twitter.com/JXOvMbkbns

I'd like to see the REAL stats of the number of Impersonating Channels that manage to reach 100K and get verified without your staff IMMEDIATELY noticing when they apply for it? Is that not something you guys manually weed out? Where are the numbers you speak of?

Why did you have to apply something like this? You could have fixed the copyright system, or sub boxes, or the demonetization algorithm, but you choose to implement an update that has no purpose, and only makes the creators upset. You *reeeeeallly* need a new PR rep.

The purpose of verification is to weed out impersonators. How many impersonators reach 100K? Plus if you don't want privilages being tied to goals why is advertising linked to surpassing a set amount of watch time?

Being an individual that creates content with a big following should be enough criteria for a verification badge. These changes that YouTube will be implementing are just flat out stupid and unnecessary.

You're dodging the question. Nobody viewed it as a way to verify sub count. We all viewed it as a way to verify that this is the legitimate person, not an impersonator, ESPECIALLY in the comment section.
