It should be easy to know when you’ve found the official YouTube channel of a creator, artist, brand, or public figure. So in late October, we’re updating what it means for channels to be “Verified” w/ new eligibility criteria & a new look. Details → https://yt.be/help/3QfB pic.twitter.com/JXOvMbkbns

Not a YouTuber, but this change is an easy

Wow, this blew up. I don't have a sound cloud to plug, but I design complex origami. If this is something you wouldn't mind seeing on your timeline, a follow would be much appreciated:pic.twitter.com/U65qMyEdVI

So basically you’re taking an easy to understand and recognize system, and are making it weird and confusing? I swear someone from Twitch is working at YouTube as a saboteur

Okay, so basically changing it from something used across all platforms for verified users is SO CONFUSING! Instead you’re going to add a blank grey background because that just screams verified.pic.twitter.com/1lDerJMnR6

How will this affect person's with low or impaired vision? There are a lot of accessibility guidelines in place against using color or gradient as information. I feel like you don't care about accessibility or persons with disabilities.

Thanks for raising this, it's an important question! We do accessibility testing -- for example, we make sure things like screen readers can identify the new design. Also note that the current check mark is also grey (against a white background).

And colour blind people won’t be able to differentiate the subtle gray highlight from the white background

Thanks for raising this – we do accessibility testing, for example, making sure things like screen readers can identify the new design, which was absolutely done in this case! Also note: the current check mark is also grey (same color against a white background).
