Today we’re sharing several changes designed to better protect data on children’s content on YouTube. Starting in about four months:
Machine learning technology will help identify made for kids content, as defined by the FTC (see D1 of their FAQs for more: https://ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/complying-coppa-frequently-asked-questions …). Since creators know their videos & target audience best, they’ll also be required to self designate videos as made for kids.

Based on this response, all animated content is going to be flagged as content for children, and therefore have commenting shut off. Is this accurate? I’m trying to see if my content is going to get falsely flagged as kid safe (it’s laughable that that’s what the concern is now)

Ironically I've had my game streams comments disabled because I have a VOD of Super Mario Bros., was not aimed at kids. Been fixed but now I had to move to Twitch.
