Today we’re sharing several changes designed to better protect data on children’s content on YouTube. Starting in about four months:

What worries me is the automatic flagging you mentioned. My content is family friendly, but there was once a time when every single video I put out was automatically deemed inappropriate and demonetized until I appealed. I'm afraid of the system ignoring my intentions.

This applies to videos that are specifically made for kids – you can see Section D1 of the FTC FAQs for their definition of child directed content: https://ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/complying-coppa-frequently-asked-questions …. We'll have more resources on this in coming months.

@TeamYouTube , I've really appreciated your recent moves. It has been a huge support for members of the YouTube community and viewers alike.. but this one is truly worrisome. Recently you demanded via rule changes that, in order to retain monetization, channels adopt more /1 -
family friendly content. After this change many channels have cut adult language and content from their videos. Now you are threatening to lower their monetization for being too friendly. Clearly this is a financial move, and has little motivation in protecting children. /2

That doesn't really clear anything up. Can you manually opt out of being labeled kids content? Will you be able to dispute it if you get labeled as kids content through whatever bot flags it? Toy Reviews like
@JobbytheHong arent kids content but bots would probably just see toysThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

What if the majority of your viewers are kids? Like your target audience isn’t children but the MAJORITY of your viewers are kids.
