@youtube
hey why does my video looks great when i upload it and is scheduled to go live, and then as soon as it goes public, the quality takes a nose dive off a cliff?
I'm talking long after it's done processing on your end
Hey back, YouTube may adjust the video quality to help improve viewing conditions–for example when there’s a slower internet condition. You can still change it yourself from the menu (settings) then select quality: https://yt.be/help/JXPZ . If this is not the case, let us know.

It's not the case. The youtube copy resembled the raw video (which looks good) while it was scheduled, and shortly after it went live, the quality plummeted. Viewed at 1080p60 both times. This is a still shot comparison of the compression. Youtube (1st), and the source (2nd)pic.twitter.com/ZiTn8RI975

The availability of higher res may take a bit longer than other resolutions–we’re working to improve this! If you’d prefer, you can upload your video as unlisted and make it public once HD is available. More here: https://yt.be/help/3QZ9
