I took the @YouTubeTV plunge this week only to find out that I have to watch commercials on @CBS
I have not watched commercials for like 20 years. Don’t think I will be able to start now.

On YouTube TV, ads air as they would on regular TV. But, you can always skip ads on the recorded content of your DVR by using the player controls (play, pause, fast forward, rewind). If the episode is Video on Demand, it may have non-skippable ads. Hope this helps clarify.

Except for CBS right? How long after a CBS show airs do I have to be able to watch commercial free?

That's odd. Once recorded, you should be able to fast forward through the commercials. Let us know what happens when you try to fast forward through the ads. If you see any error message, please share the screenshots for us to understand the issue better.

This is forcing us to watch VOD in spite of the fact that we recorded it on the DVRpic.twitter.com/GZEORUV0BA

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. For some networks, if the episode is On Demand, then it will take priority over your recording (and VOD may have unskippable advertisements). Let us know if you have any other questions.
