If your YouTube video gets demonetized YouTube does not promote it in recommend. Meaning your YouTube video & channel can’t grow. It’s not just “money” it’s about making content that gets seen.https://twitter.com/KoolieisKool/status/1121816303231066112 …

This is false,
@TeamYouTube I have recorded meetings and statements from Youtube directly that confirms if a video is not suitable for all advertisers, it WILL NOT be recommended to all audiences. This is already a known fact. Brand-friendly content is pushed to the top. -
We'd love to learn more about those conversations and help clear things up because that's not correct :( Here's another tweet that may help clarify and def read through this article too: http://yt.be/help/i2EY DM us if you want to chat more!https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1122189374916124672 …

So essentially, if your video gets demonetized, it's just a sign saying it will be most likely not be recommended. Correlation /= Causation
-
Correlation /= causation is a great way to think about it actually. If the video has mature content then it may not be widely recommended across all audiences. Separately, it may have a yellow icon for a similar reason. But demonetized videos can be widely recommended too!

Agreed. If all these big creators are posting analytics and data going against what TeamYoutube is saying, I'm going to assume someone is lying and I doubt it's somehow all the creators conspiring to make things up.
