Hey @YouTube, if I've blocked a channel, why are their videos still showing up in my suggested list and autoplaying in my queue‽

To clarify, currently it isn't possible to block a channel completely from appearing in your recommendations. However, you can remove it by selecting "Not interested". It'll influence how YT suggests videos to you in the future. Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the clarification. 2 follow-up questions: 1) If I do that, is there some way to distinguish between "I'm not interested in this CHANNEL" vs " I'm not interested in this SUBJECT"? 2) What does "Block User" actually DO?

That first question is the important one: I haven't used the "Not Interested" feature because I didn't want the algorithm to interpret "I don't want to see this dude's opinion about ANYTHING" to be mistaken for "I don't want to see videos about Captain Marvel"

When you block a user, they won't be able to share videos or chat with you on YouTube. Learn more here: https://yt.be/help/bhZv . We don't have an option to mark a specific topic as not interested. However, you can always share your feedback: https://yt.be/help/feedback
