They’re making money on a 14 min+ vid he created. They own the 20 second song, sure, but he still owns the other 14 minutes of his creation. Sounds like you need to divide the revenue and not give them full reign because the vid includes 20 seconds of him singing their song.
Welcome to YouTube, where content creators have been getting bombarded with false copyright claims, demonetized, etc for some time now. The entire YouTube copyright system in general is incredibly abusive sadly.
