Are you using iOS or Android? In addition to the channel subscription settings (tap the bell > all notifications) check your notification setup on the YouTube app & your mobile device to make sure you've opted-in to receive all notifications: https://goo.gl/UxsVCh . Let us know!

Sorry for the confusion around this. Generally, an email notification is sent out when a channel is taken down with the reason mentioned in it. You can take a look at your spam and junk folder if you've received anything as such.
