Hey there, thanks for your tweet. Let's get this sorted out — does this happen to other cast-enabled apps? What message do you get on your TV screen? You want to make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router.

No, no other apps. Only youtube. I can get it connect and play 1 video at a time, but the interaction of using the app and getting it to register doesn’t happen. It claims I need to connect to wifi which isnt the case. this is what I see on the app even w/ a current video playing

If you look at the bottom of the screenshot, a video is current playing using the cast, but the app “semi” crashes. It is only with this app on the chromecast. Tried other apps and the YT app on another device and both were fine

Thanks for the photo. To make sure all sides are looked at, could you try casting from a different app like Netflix? Also, rebooting your Chromecast, Wi-Fi router and cast device for about a minute can help refresh the connection.

I’ve done all of the above. Twice tonight and numerous times over the last few days. I’ve come to realize this is jus the relationship between chrome and the youtube app. No issues with using the yT app with firestick and no issues using a diff app with chromecast

Thanks for tagging us.
@BrownSugarMama_ Updating the app or reinstalling it often fixes most issues. Let us know if that works.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

Unfortunately there is still a delay issue with the app. When I select a video to add to queue, I receive a loading image and then the message “error, failed to load” . This only happens when I cast to Chromecast. No issue when I cast to another device or using the app alone
