Yes, thank you. It appears my channel has a legacy username/url in place. Is there a way for me to change it to my current name or am I stuck with my legacy username for the channel? Or is it possible to switch To another brand account to change this?

Thanks for reaching out. Depending on when your channel was created, it may have a username. Usernames are no longer required for channels today, but you can still use this URL to direct to your channel – even if your channel name has changed since you chose your username.

Good to know. What would I do if I no longer wanted to use the username as the custom url and wanted to use the YouTube brand name I switched to months ago instead. I see no option for this under custom url. I simply see the old username and that is all.

Since YouTube treats legacy username URLs as your primary channel URL, they can't be changed. If eligible, you can still claim a custom URL. Your channel can have multiple URLs and look different from one another, but all point your audience to the same place.

If you are eligible to claim a custom URL, is there a way to have it match the Brand Account instead of the legacy username?

Good question! You can choose a custom URL based on things like your display name, your YouTube username, any current vanity URLs that you have, or the name of your linked website (all subject to availability). More info: https://goo.gl/zFe1ou . Hope this helps clarify.

To clarify, existing legacy usernames can't be changed. However, you can request a specific URL for your channel. Thanks!

How do I request a custom url? All I have are suggestions that don’t match.

Since you're eligible for a custom URL, you'll see the custom URL(s) you've been approved for. You can't change the part in the gray box, but you may need to add a few letters or numbers to make the URL unique to you. Hope this helps clarify!
