Dear @YouTube, im currently in a country where a byte of data is probably 6X what I typically pay for in the US. I'm sick & tired of constantly having to pause videos 2 manually downgrade the quality. Let me choose a default streaming quality!! Live by your mantra, don't be evil!

We hear you. There's an easy fix for this. Tap the profile icon in your app > Settings > General > Turn on Limit mobile data usage. Post this change, play any video and select your desired streaming quality and that should make the difference. Hope this helps!

YouTube adjusts the quality of your video from standard definition to high definition based on the speed of your Internet connection. If you're unable to select the quality of the video want to stream, try signing out and signing back in to see if it clears things. Let us know.

It is having to manually select streaming quality EVERYTIME I watch a video....meaning if I watch 10 videos at a sitting, I manually have to pause video, go to settings and downgrade video quality. Is it too difficult to set a default stream quality??
