The worst part about YouTube is if you accidentally watch some crappy video, that channel will haunt you forever in every single recommendation on the site

Oh yes, it takes weeks to convince it. Seems to heavily weight toward ignoring anyone saying they don't like any sort of 'big' YouTuber. Been doing it for months!

Hell, it's impossible to stop YouTube auto play from actually working in EVERY context today --- whatever setting you use doesn't work when playing a video in a list. So no-one's going to take you very seriously when you claim "Oh, we do too care about personalization".

That's odd, which device/browser are you using? Does this happen across devices? Keep us posted.

Tried this to no avail. I may manually watch a video a month from a channel, but if I engage with any content , after explicitly selecting 'not interested' I start getting recos for it again. YT should get that I may engage with a channel w/o being recommended more content

I spent a LONG time training Google News to ignore various crap. Then GN decided to change UI that COMPLETELY IGNORES customization. So (a) why bother to log in to GN? (b) why bother to train YouTube since Google has this pattern of just tossing personalization?
