A response this time! I can't make an original comment using any desktop login which is how I view youtube 95% of the time. I can only reply to others comments which I rarely did in the first place.

Thanks for the info! Can you confirm which boxes are checked under Notifications > Comments & Activity? The first box is for comments on your videos. Also, do you see any specific error message, when you try to comment? Let us know!

It's not related to people commenting on my videos so I will not be checking that. There is no error message. There is no comment box. I have no forms of adblocker being used.

I don't know if you're reading my posts properly. There is no error message. There is no comment box. Capital letters for emphasis. THERE IS NO COMMENT BOX.

Sorry for the confusion. As you are using a browser, could you try clearing your browser's cache and cookies? If you need a how-to, this guide has the exact steps: https://goo.gl/dwzcyo . Also, try using a different browser or Incognito mode. Let us know if this helps!

Browser cache cleared, cookies cleared. No improvement. Using other browsers and incognito were my first attempts at getting around the no comment box but it is still not there.

In my second tweet in this thread I explained that it's only my desktop login that is affected. However, that is how I view the vast majority of YT content so switching devices is not a satisfactory solution. Other desktops and laptops do not show the comment box either
