No offense guys, but you’re testing a feature that nobody with a brain would want. Who wants better auto generated thumbnails over custom ones...
-
I know it seems irrational. But you'll be surprised at the number of smaller/newwr creators who end up using auto generated thumbnails. Some don't have the time, nor resources to create custom thumbnails. If the system can make it easier for those creators, then that's good.

It's cool that you actually announced it beforehand, but doing it on the Google Forums that virtually no creators regularly visit was probably not the best idea. I think the general reaction would have been much better if you'd also announced it on this Twitter for example.

Thank you, super noted for next time!!

Every single thumbnail on my sub feed or home page as of right now has no custom thumbnails. Am I the entire 0.3%?
-
If you're part of the small test group, then you'll see auto-generated thumbnails across all of YouTube (no custom thumbs). If you'd like, you can use incognito mode in your browser and see custom thumbnails again. Also this test is only running for 7 days total!

Yesterday I still saw the regular custom thumbnails and today it changed.. to autogenerated thumbnails.. I really dislike them :) how do I turn it off?
-
While there's no way to turn it off, you can use incognito mode in your browser to see the other/custom thumbnails. Note: the test is only running for 7 days total. Also, we've passed along your feedback about the experience!
