This is a beautiful and important piece. And we’re always glad to be reminded of the foresight and clarity of our greatly missed founder Urvashi Vaid.

I went to Alabama last month to try to understand the strange whiplash I've been feeling lately as a queer person. I met some extraordinary people. These are their stories, and mine. nytimes.com/2023/01/06/opi

We are so proud of the race ran. She has always been a great leader in Texas and for our community, and we look forward to seeing that work continue in whatever she takes on next!

If and likely when Obergefell is overturned, clerks in all 83 counties in Michigan will have to turn same-sex couples away when applying for a marriage license. People on their 12th marriage or who were convicted of killing their last spouse can marry in MI. But not gay people.

A quick explainer on why the Respect for Marriage Act is an exasperating bill and absolutely needed to be passed. This is a victory, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. If Obergefell should be overturned, millions of families will be protected.
Quote Tweet
The bill on same-sex marriage would not codify same-sex marriage, and it's unsurprising that reporters are just kinda tweeting out that word--"codifying"--and clumsily misleading people. That said, this bill needs to be passed. It's the best we're going to do right now.

41 LPAC-endorsed incumbent legislators were re-elected this cycle! These women have served as a firewall for democracy in the face of attacks from radical anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice Republicans. We are grateful that they will be returning to state capitols!

We are horrified at the news out of CO Springs. Our hearts are with the families and loved ones of those lost. It's heartbreaking to continue to see this level of violence and hate in our country. We can and will continue to advocate for the humanity and dignity of our community.

A "rainbow wave" that lifted record numbers of #LGBTQ+ candidates to victory in the U.S. #midterms is a promising sign of growing acceptance, but tough legislative fights still lie ahead in many Republican-controlled states, I report for @Openly @TRF. openlynews.com/i/?id=2c3a2c5e

Thank you to our LPAC hero and champion, . This is why we work hard to protect and elect leaders who advocate for their community!

The Respect for Marriage Act will protect marriage equality and ensure individuals in same-sex and interracial marriages are guaranteed the same rights & freedoms as every other marriage. We are going to get this done for loving families across America.

“When they’re elected, it changes that dynamic,” Turner said. “It does matter. It does help. It hasn’t always prevailed,” she said, adding that there often aren’t enough out LGBTQ+ lawmakers to help change the tide on anti-LGBTQ+ bills.
