In August, I visited a town with out a bank.
The sole branch in Coffeeville, MS closed last year, decimating the local economy. It's one of 1,600+ "banking deserts" in the US, and many are predominately Black communities.

Demand for US workers rebounded in Sept in a sign the labour market might be resisting the Fed’s efforts to cool the economy.
It suggests that they'll keep rates up for a while in order to balance labour demand with the limited supply of workers.
