  2. The urutumotu, or 'Sage of the Canopy', is a large Pakardiant tree sloth that is more swift and proficient on the forest floor than their more sedentary cousins.

A nasty hybrid of Iguanodon and Utahraptor: Discussion here because there's entirely too much to say about this vile creature over twitter: Cheers, folks!

  4. Generally the ba'khar is uninterested in humans and vessels, but there are occasional reports of attacks during rut, when young are nearby, during the height of the dry season when food is scarce, or the animal is surprised.

  5. With thick skin, dense bones, and a belly full of gastroliths, the ba'khar is dense and sinks to the bottom, where they punt along the bottom to chase down prey. They are more proficient on land than their gigantic and more water-specialized cousin, the kurajaku.

  6. A megaraptoran that evolved during the radiation of their clade following the extinction of the tyrannosaurs some 15 million years ago, they are a semiaquatic apex predator. Prey ranges from dinosaurs and pterosaurs on land to sharks, small whales, and young mosasaurs in the sea.

  7. In the vast floodplains to the northeast of the Empire and in the mangroves dotting the shallow Crescent Sea roams a great sea dragon called the Ba'Khar.

Amazing social behaviour of striped catfish, forming a creature like shape. Fish at the bottom graze, while those at the top are on the lookout.

  10. The young Diplodocus also has a hide pattern meant to blend into multiple environments, as at this size they may have begun to leave the cover of the underbrush and venture out onto the fern prairies. Thanks Owen for the prompt! I had a lot of fun with it.

  11. I colored it with a mix of forest and flood plane in mind, and the need for color camouflage in both as their prey likely had good color vision.

  13. The winner of my 7k giveaway, Owen, wanted me to illustrate a bull . He wanted it on the more speculative side (my specialty). I gave the lacrimal horns a somewhat ostentatious growth of colored keratin, a bright dewlap under the throat...

  14. When I reach thousand follower markers on Instagram, I hold commission giveaways to show appreciation to those who support my art. My last few giveaways were designs for creatures in (setting of my short stories), but this time I wanted to get back to my roots!

  15. Last but not least is a young silver dragon. My dragons have bright underwings for intimidation and display. For the chromatic dragons I look to moths for inspiration, and butterflies for the metallic dragons. This one was inspired by the beautiful blue morpho butterfly.

  16. Next is a drider. Traditionally dark elves that failed their spider god, as I’ve completely revamped the drow in my setting, driders are now just a type of faerie. Leaned into the pine-cone shape of this model’s abdomen for a more woodland aesthetic than typical for driders.

  17. First up is The Calligrapher, a notorious and mysterious dwarven necromancer. He’s been referenced a few times in both campaigns, but will soon be making a few appearances and I decided it was time I gave him a mini.

A tribute to Australovenator for Fossil Friday. Australovenator was a predator from Australia that was quite 'hands-on' when it came to dinner:
