Population migration and displacement. I can't say I fully understand all the nuances as I wasn't born here. But it must suck for the natives of place seeing that I guess, humans are sentimental. Seeing your place of origin change without your input evokes strong emotions.

It's the same reason Americans in the west coast and Canadians in Toronto get mad at the Chinese for buying up property in those locations.

Because it is bad when you're not the one who stands to benefit from it, like being displaced by raising rents. Majority of neighborhoods are NOT being gentrified by black investors so most people's fear and anxiety surrounding it is valid. I think times are shifting though

From what I’ve seen, they kick out lower income families out of their homes, hike up the prices & move these other folks in. The settlements for the people’s homes they’re buying aren’t enough (in some cases) & they just pushing them out

Doubtful one would get a good answer to this question on Twitter. But I'd field it if I were in a city council or planning meeting in a heartbeat. Some aspects everybody want, some aspects people don't want.

Because poor people end up homeless either by eminent domain, or the inability to keep up with the increased cost of living. It’s violence by capitalism.

Biggest issues is how property taxes go up and end up forcing people out of homes that have been paid off for years because they can’t afford the higher tax
