I agree on all those points but it’s not consequence free. Games are expensive to buy because they’re expensive to make - inflation is rising as is the cost of dev. So if people don’t buy games because they’re too expensive then the investment will go down. Worth considering.
Not every gamer can afford to buy every game they are interested in at launch if at all. Sometimes they need to budget themselves out and make a tough choice on which game(s) they want to buy. Worth considering.

Absolutely, but that’s nothing new. Neither is the fact that businesses need to make money. It’s rare that the cost of production goes up while the cost of purchase goes down.
Gamepass hasn't changed much since many of those gamers weren't buying those games anyways. It's devs getting something from consumers who weren't gonna jump in at $60-$70. I wasn't gonna buy MLB the Show but hey I'll try it out since it's there and Xbox will send the dev a check
