First, let's discuss the biggest one (which is currently trending on Twitter). A remake of TLOU. I love the first game, I think for a game released at the end of the PS3's lifespan, it has still aged very well.

I can see the argument for both sides of why they want to remake TLOU. On one hand, Sony clear wants its most profitable IPs to benefit from the next-gen hardware. On the other hand....TLOU is only seven years old.

But it makes sense given Sony is building momentum for the franchise: a successful sequel and a TV show currently on the way. TLOU has a ton of momentum going for it right now and Sony is capitalizing on it.

Bloomberg also notes that the alleged remake is part of a broader reorganization at PS's first-party studios and the struggling conflict with Sony's current foals of larger blockbuster-sized projects.

I think the report says a lot about what Sony is aiming for. They want big, system-selling games headlining their console. But I think this goal is going to hurt indie games as a whole.

In regards to the Days Gone thing, I know people that loved the game, to be honest, I thought it was ok. Not the best zombie game or open-world game, not the worst but it is a game that did stuff. But I think it deserved another shake just to see how it could improve.

It has become quite clear that the big three, particularly Microsoft and Sony are going in two very directions for their future in gaming.

V good thread. I do think done visually well without changing much, TLOU Remake could be colossal, even this soon - wild to remember that was two consoles ago. And HBO TLOU has the chance to be the GOAT video game adaption. Franchise has the power to be much bigger than 2 games.

I am generally curious about a TLOU remake on PS5 mostly because I want to see what ND learned from TLOUII and how it will implement the PS5 tech to enhance the original game.

Such a tricky line to walk. Either way, it sorta hints at the question we're all wondering: what's the next step for TLOU IP? Double down on the first two? TV & out? A third title?

I would love a third game but who knows when that'll happen.
