SURGERY UPDATE: here’s a full rundown in case anyone is curious! After leaving recovery and getting my own room, Steven came for visiting hours. During this time my catheter was removed, which means I’ve gotten to stretch my legs and walk to the bathroom. WALKING IS SO FUN! 1/x

I have never enjoyed walking so much and I was actually really excited for physical therapy today. This morning I did 4 laps around the floor by myself, which was a blast! My doctor came to see me right after and said I’m way ahead of schedule and I’m healing great! 2/x

He and I decided, though, it’s best for me to stay here one more night. He wants me to be getting up, going to the bathroom, taking care for myself here PLUS he’s really nervous about me going out in the snow storm. He said I absolutely cannot handle a fall right now 3/x

So we’re not risking it. One more night here. I think today they’ll start to wean me onto exclusively oral pain meds. This is what I’m really nervous about. I currently have a pain pump and that has been a lifesaver. We have to manage all pain with oral meds now. 4/x

My doctor said a stationary bike will be great for my recovery when I reach that point. I started writing this thread at 7 am and I keep falling asleep/getting interrupted. I’m cleared from PT and they said with my mobility I don’t need at-home PT! Anyway! This is my update!
