Of course, that is not the only instance where Microsoft affirmed this. In 2019, Xbox partner director of program management, Jason Ronald told Eurogamer sub-outlet Digital Foundry that the company prefers to give players the choice on how to power its standard Xbox controllers.

Do people dislike the battery option? I love it, since my DualShock 4 battery was only lasting 2 hours on a charge towards the end of 6 years.

I personally do not mind the battery thing to be honest. Also I like the idea that Microsoft is giving people the choice on whether to use AA batteries or buy a rechargeable battery pack.
