Of course, that is not the only instance where Microsoft affirmed this. In 2019, Xbox partner director of program management, Jason Ronald told Eurogamer sub-outlet Digital Foundry that the company prefers to give players the choice on how to power its standard Xbox controllers.

This has been debunked. Mine all use generic Amazon batteries or rechargeable ones from @PowerA or @ControllerGear
