I would not be surprised if Halo Infinite were canceled last-gen for a few reasons.https://twitter.com/JoeMiller101/status/1341336489414828032 …

You can only do so much with multi-plat third-party titles even with their free next-gen upgrades. You can only have so much fun with older titles that are Game Pass. Series X/S NEEDS exclusive first-party titles for early adopters of the hardware to pickup and enjoy
It’s common for cross-gen titles to be canceled for last-gen platforms (e.g. Mortal Kombat X).
With all, that's going on with Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen platforms, I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of cross-gen titles decrease and the in-between console gap year(s) for console generations.
In defense of cross-gen though, I know it's damn difficult getting these next-gen consoles, but I also don't think last-gen versions of games should be borderline unplayable. But with a fall 2020 a launch window, I would expect next-gen to be more accessible by then to buy.
I'm hoping it's not the case. It would still be beneficial for Halo Infinite to release on both generations of Xbox consoles. I have faith 343 will do the right thing. Regardless of what the outcome is as I know even a $300 or $500 is too much for people rn given the pandemic.
