GTA IV is one of the best-written stories in the series. But I also feel it has some of the best writing out of all the Rockstar-developed game, alongside Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2.
I'm just going to be upfront and say, Grand Theft Auto IV is my favorite GTA bar none. I do enjoy GTA V, don't get me wrong. But when I want to play a GTA game with a good story and with complex characters, I am more likely to play GTA IV than anything else.
Also, I want to point out that LA Noire also has good writing as well!
GTA V is a better game in terms of gameplay and pacing. No denying that. But agreed GTA IV’s story just really has me attached and RDR2 don't get me started on how many hours I've synced into that masterpiece. [RDR2] is truly the one of the few games that defined this gen.
