To be fair it went kind of downhill after they ran out of book material. But that's my opinion.

I think it went downhill a little after that, the season with Winds of Winter and Battle of the Bastards was post book, and maybe one of the best seasons in the show. But I do agree that the last two seasons were going downhill relative to the rest of the series.
