It honestly isn't. Epic games is notorious for making shady exclusivity deals with developers who had a scheduled release date on a competing platform. As in, they would pay the developers to cancel their release on other platforms and only sell on the Epic store for a year.

Developers who turned down this offer lost out on a lot of money, and also were barred from selling that game on the Epic Games Store. They are shady, anti-competitive, anti-CONSUMER, and predatory.
