Is there a part of the game that feels especially egregious in that way to you? Where the superficiality undermines the action/grandness it's going for? (And what game does it right?)
There’s a few (might be worth a thread because character count) but I will say I do like the idea of an open world Zelda game and I feel for 3D Zelda games an open-world design is not a bad route to take for it's 3D future. (1/?)

Weapon durability aside, I found the combat to be interesting. Also, the survival aspects of the game, while bare-bones had potential. Speaking of which, cooking in the game was a simple pleasure, and now I'm thinking of that BDG video where he cooked BOTW recipes
