With the next-gen coming up, I strongly believe that Microsoft and Sony should hear up with some new acquisitions. They've already done so. Sony acquired Insomnia. While Microsoft in the last few years, has done the same thing, including the acquisition of Obsidian Entertainment.

Do you think this has anything to do with the development of a custom version of UE5 for the PS5? It seems that they may be able to push next gen to the limits to do some amazing things. It will be awesome to see what kind of products this investment brings.
Not sure why we're making the emphasis on Fortnite. I'm pretty sure Sony is not interested in Fortnite, that much I'm pretty sure this is an investment into Unreal Engine Santa Monica Studio, Insomniac and Naughty Dog, now under PlayStation Studio, could make use of Unreal 5
What you're saying is probably true. I think the mentioning of Fortnite in the tweet is just because that is what most people know Epic for.
