Microsoft buys Sega, and they release Series X as Saturn 2 in Japan?

Jeff, hear me out. What if instead of buying Sega, Microsoft partnered with them to make a second-party game? Preferably a platformer

I want an excuse for Microsoft to get the Blinx IP again, damn it. I thing Sega still has some defense to make a competent platformer even if Sonic hasn't sparked joy in recent years. Minus Sonic Mania. But again, they didn't develop the game

Something like that seems much more likely. It would be cool to see the return of the major third-party exclusive.

Microsoft has a chance to have more of an equal footing this generation. (1/?)

But they need to expand on the genres they offer in their library. Relying on shooters like Halo and Gears and racing games (mostly Forza) isn't going to cut it anymore (2/?)

They need to step outside their comfort zone and have more JRPGs exclusive to Xbox; they need to have a high-profiled platformer IP, I could legit spend hours talking about my dream of what Xbox could do. (3/3)

Oh and sidenote the Blinx series wasn't even that bad. Yeah, it wasn't great but the first had a solid foundation, and although Artoon dropped the ball on the sequel (which feels more like a spinoff) the IP really had potential.

The first game is backwards compatible on Xbox One! Also, it's available digitally, too, if you can't find a hard copy. But an original disc is pretty cheap if you prefer physical dics like myself.

I have a suspicion that their 2nd console Microsoft supposed to have in a works will be Catered towards the Japan market. And that's where Sega comes in
