I've played the first 5 hours of the first Witcher game. That's it. Should I watch The Witcher Netflix series or wait? Yes I know it's based on the books not the games.

You can play The Witcher 3 without having played the previous two games. The third installment does a good job catching you up to speed on what's going on

Agreed. I skipped the first two and started the third and am quite enjoying it and don't feel like I've missed much, if any, plot so far.
