    1/ The jury affirmed what we all witnessed – Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. At the same time, we know this is only a tiny step forward, and that the entire system needs to change in order to realize justice. Justice is a country free of white supremacy, police, and prisons.

    Justice has not been served -- because in a just world, would be alive. Black people would feel safe driving to work. But within the system we have, we got the outcome we needed. And brilliant Black organizers deserve all the credit. Onwards for Black liberation.

    I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you've been just holding it together for the last year, and now you're falling apart as things begin to feel safe again... It's a normal reaction to a crisis ending. Please give yourself grace, and ask for it from those around you.

    Vaccinate incarcerated people NOW!

    I have four parents, all over the age of 75. Randomly, three of them, in two different cities, got their first dose of COVID vaccine today. My father who has NOT received a vaccine is my parent at highest risk. He is incarcerated.
