      Could "dat" be an alternative to web-servers? I used Freenet back in the days and it was horribly slow, but I guess it had different goals

      Central servers often make stuff much much easier to setup and maintain, so it would probably be nice to have something that could do both

      Work centralised but could be switched to decentralised "mode" if the "central" gets corrupted (technically or politically, hehe)

      Ethereum and hyperledger for smart contracts use same amount of energy as any P2P system as they don't mine coins and are public ledgers
