Web brokers often use biased web displays, clever tricks, & sneaky redirects to push people to the plans with the highest commissions, not those in the consumer's best interest – including substandard health plans. https://www.cbpp.org/direct-enrollment-figure-4 …

Some web brokers also fail consumers in other ways, like not letting them know if they or their family members are Medicaid eligible

More people would enroll in skimpy health plans without understanding the clear dangers of the plans, putting them at risk of catastrophic costs if they get sick. https://www.urban.org/sites/default/files/publication/99708/moni_stldi_final_0.pdf …

Even worse, while details are unclear, it sounds like tax dollars would fund this race to the bottom, since the state would capture money that should help Georgians pay premiums for real coverage, and instead use it for subpar plans.

Georgia’s materials also talk about changing the federal subsidy structure. No details yet, but past proposals to do this involved raising costs by thousands of dollars for low-income and older consumers.

All of this far exceeds the statutory leeway for state experimentation and would put Georgians' health care and federal tax dollars at risk, consistent with the worst fears about abuse of 1332 waivers:https://www.cbpp.org/health/commentary-house-bill-would-block-trump-administration-rules-on-health-waivers-that-weaken …

Shopping for health insurance has never been simple. 4many it has become more complicated. True people can now C Plans and prices but many don't understand the moving parts of their plans. Many have purchased plans then later seek help when they purchase based on price alone

Anyone who understands insurance knows that there R no true apples2apples comparisons in health insurance. U can compare plans and and pick 1 that has the best features that fits a persons risk tolerance, budget and includes their preferred doctors and meds. Not always possible

The biggest problem with the ACA compliant plans is that they are simply Unaffordable. An ACA compliant plan cost $25,000 for a family of 4.
