Listen to this splendid, upstanding, historically insightful speech by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This video must be shown in every school & every legislature in India: “Some customs are meant to be broken - Historic speech...”: https://youtu.be/ThcKH5AqspE via @YouTube
Let’s throw stones at others while we live in glass houses, why don’t we?
Incidentally, FGM and circumcision are being addressed by Muslim reformists. Beating of ones own body is ones own choice, methinks. But I cannot speak much about a religion I don’t know.

As a humanist you have to speak out against every violation. Have a referendum on whether Muslim women want Burkha or not and 99%will say No..they allwant freedom from this Mediaeval practice of misogyny.Let our Muslim women see the world without any Control and show her beauty

Sure. Agree. There are many battles to fight and win. But I’m concerned your motivations aren’t ‘humanist’ as you claim, ref your handle. I’m apathetic agnostic, with one Hindu and one Catholic parent. I feel most entitled to comment on these two religions.

Then comment on the untold sufferings in the Nunnery, find out how many Nuns of Kerala are Nuns voluntarily or due to acute poverty, what are d harassments going on in churches, how Jesus is marketed as a product to gullible poor Hindus, what r their targets to be achieved, how, why??
-
Yes. Absolutely. You just liked a tweet I shared about the rape of nuns. So you know I am asking. But this is whataboutery, no? When someone talks about issues in Hinduism, you point out issues in other religions. Let’s clean our own house. Cheers!
